I am honoured and deeply humbled to stand before you today as the newly elected National President of the Nigerian Universities Nursing Students’ Association. This moment signifies the trust and confidence you have placed in me, and for that, I am immensely grateful.

First, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing executive council. Their dedication and hard work have laid a solid foundation upon which we can build and continue to advance our noble profession.

I also want to thank NUNSA executives and nunsites across our nation’s universities. Your support and encouragement have been invaluable, and I am committed to serving you with integrity, transparency, and unwavering dedication.

Vision for NUNSA:

As National President, my vision is to foster inclusivity, promote welfare, and empower every NUNSITE. Together, we will work towards:

Inclusivity: Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all nursing students. We will establish thriving clubs, ensure existing standing committees are flourishing, and appoint liaison officers to guarantee that all students are included and actively engaged in NUNSA National.

Welfare: We will prioritize initiatives that address the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of nursing students. Additionally, we will send birthday messages to celebrate each member and introduce “NUNSA Whispers,” a weekly motivation blog, to provide regular inspiration and encouragement.

Empowerment: Empowering our members is essential to our mission. We will provide tools, resources, and opportunities for personal, academic, and professional growth. This includes mentorship programs, skill-building workshops, and platforms for members to voice their ideas and concerns. Our goal is to cultivate confident, capable nursing professionals who can drive positive change within their communities and the healthcare industry.
