Following the directive of the Central Bank of Nigeria on all unregistered community savings account, the association got a message from the bank to provide their registration documents on or before 12th July 2022 to regularize the association’s account or risk its closure.
The association needed to act quickly. Unfortunately, the amount we had in the account was not enough as the process of registering an association was approximately ₦150,000.
The current administration had the intent to do this registration but were unable to raise the amount needed for the registration.
The presidency thought it wise to seek help from past leaders, stakeholders and other well-meaning nurses to raise this fund. In the appeal made by the president, she stated that she preferred the assistance in form of the actual CAC registration and not necessarily cash contributions. However, the association would appreciate whatever form the support came.
As of today, 12th August 2022, we have received donations amounting to ₦204,000. The initial target was ₦150,000. The list of contributors is as follows:
