For our mental stability😭😭😭😭😭

It’s with dismay and anger that I am writing this down and directed to our leaders and stakeholders in this profession of ours.

We all knew how the nursing community was filled with hope and happiness early this year when the issue of proper placement was to be tabled at the National Executive Council.

How the nursing community was contacting different stakeholders to make sure the adjustment was made. We were told it was adjusted and to await the circular in few months time.

Now, what do we expect? We expected NANNM to be vigil and make sure the circular is out and effected but nothing to show that even though NANNM kept on saying they don’t like publicizing her plans.

The circular that was release yesterday on allowances to be given to Interns/House officers and Doctor Corpers was a poison to Nurses and to other categories of health professionals, it was still a blessing. And if you are conversant with the salary scale, you could definitely knows that there’s nothing new about the allowance and the scale has not changed.

I can stand anywhere and say that other professional associations were very much aware of the planned allowance and how it would be before it was release yesterday, and the probability of NANNM having same knowledge and perhaps trying to pull some strings is very slim.

Dear Nurses, our problems are not caused by the selfishness of other professions, but rather the INEPTITUDES, LACK OF FORESIGHT and PROACTIVE attitude of our leaders (NANNM). This will should bear in mind and for us to make strides, NANNM must and should be overhauled, NANNM should be restructured. More than 90% of Young Nurses, and students nurses have lost faith in NANNM.

NANNM was built on protecting the welfares of her members, NANNM is answerable to her members, but a lot of things happening, a lot of the things affecting its members are caused by NANNM, and yet NANNM will be blaming same Nurses for her problems.

NANNM always claimed to have her cards closer to her chest when asked about their plans and what they are doing but yet there’s nothing to show months afterwards.

There’s no profession that has its members who are organizing themselves into groups for sole purpose of contributing their quota to the profession but yet look down upon by the professional body (NANNM) as miscreants. No members of a profession whose faith, patience and mental health haven’t been tested like the Nurses but yet they are expected to keep quiet and keep moving like zombies who are been controlled.

I don’t want to say anything since when I came across the circular but it’s aching me and the only way I would have my consolation is to voice out which I am doing.

To those who feels we talk too much, allow us to express ourselves, that’s the only defense mechanism we do have.

To those who feels NANNM is really trying, well done.

To those who feels NANNM is our problem and not any outsider, Well done.

To those who are regretting joining the profession, I would like to tell you that, it’s not the profession, the issue is the leaders saddled to take us to the promised land.

To those who are paying COD, May God be your strength.

To those who are being oppressed, take heart.

To those who plans to travel out, may Allah makes it easy for you.

For those who wants to stay, may Allah makes it easy for you.

To those who have the connection to influential persons but ain’t using the strings to emancipate the profession, well done.

To Nursing Group Admins, who has done a lot for the profession and its professional with little or no amount, May Allah bless us all and makes it easy for us.

For those assisting their colleagues through trial times, motivating their colleagues from regretting joining the profession, from getting depressed, well done.

To Nurses who cries from all the things happening to us, May Allah wipe away our tears.

To those Nurses, who feels 105k given to Interns is too much for them, and who feels they don’t need the money, well done too.

Finally, lets keep faith, the profession has done and still doing good to us our problem is the leaders.

I can only support NANNM with my BODY, MIND and SOUL if it moves out of JOHESU.

Dear NANNM,

I swear to My Creator, the massive support you want from Nurses and Midwives across the country and abroad, in terms of financial assistance, prayers, support through thick and thin etc., will only be possible when we decide to be ON OUR OWN.

NANNM should decide to be own its own and see how Nurses will be patient with her for years to come despite the obstacles that its may encountered.

We can actualize a lot of things when we stay alone. We could be able to fight for better hazard allowance, shift allowance and a different salary scale and enjoy massive support from different professions and the public if we decide to be on our own.

NANNM, members ain’t praying for your downfall rather they are angry at you for the avoidables happening.

I hope and pray, you people are running helter-skelter since yesterday and having series of round tables to determine the future of your members and the association.

DEAR NANNM, YOU CAN ACHIEVE MORE AND DO BETTER ALONE. YOU DON’T NEED TO BE IN ANOTHER BODY BEFORE YOU CAN MAKE IT. YOUR MEMBERS ARE READILY AVAILABLE FOR THE AFTERMATH AFTER YOUR DIVORCE FROM JOHESU. THEY WILL REMAIN STEADFAST TILL THE END.

Dear Nurses and Midwives,

You have value, know your self-worth, build your confidence and self esteem.

Thanks
