On Wednesday, the 15th of December 2021, the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) released a circular on the approval of results of the professional examinations for basic and post basic nursing conducted in November 2021.

From the report;

📌 Basic Nursing Program had 78% pass with six thousand, four hundred and forty-five (6,445) successful candidates.

📌 The Refresher Program had 92% pass with seventy-three (73) successful candidates.

📌 Foreign Trained Nurses had 63% pass with two hundred and eighty (280) successful candidates.

📌 Post Basic Nursing programs had 97% pass with one thousand, five hundred and fifty-six (1,556) successful candidates.

Unfortunately, the Governing Board of the NMCN has withheld the results of forty-seven (47) institutions.

This is quite alarming and has been a scare for many students and concerned stakeholders.

Nevertheless, investigation is ongoing to unravel the conduct of the examination in the affected institutions.

Meanwhile, heads of training institutions were directed to check for the result of their institution(s) online as from Thursday 16th December, 2021.

Two days from the date of the release of this circular, only a few institutions have reported to have seen their results.

While we are collating the data of institutions that have seen their results, we advise all NUNSITES to remain calm as we trust the NMCN to do all that is within their power to sort out the issue and uphold the standards we have always known them to have.
